Today I thought I would share my honest thoughts on my trip down to Cornwall last September. I won't be naming the company we stayed with but I'm sure people will be able to work it out.

We set off at 4am in the morning. We arrived in Cornwall at 12pm and went to a service station for something to eat and to rest. We set back off at 1pm and arrived in Lizard at 2:30pm. We went for a walk around some shops and walked to Lizard Point, the most southern point of the UK, the view here was amazing, even if it was raining. We checked into our caravan at 4pm. When it got to finding food we decided to get something easy to eat from one of the many listed food places in the caravan park, these were all closed so we had to drive to the local Sainsburys to get some food for in the caravan.

We decided to visit St Ives and Lands end on our first full day in Cornwall. St Ives was stunning but the roads were so small and the hills were steep. After we spent a few hours walking around St Ives we went to our next place of interest, Lands End. Lands End was nothing like I had imagined. I was shocked to see it was a full visitor center with shops and other attractions. We walked to the signpost, you have the option to pay for a professional picture taken, we just took a selfie on our phones. We had a walk around a few of the shops before heading back to the caravan.

We visited Mullion Cove and the Chocolate factory at Helston. I picked up a few bits in the chocolate shop which I enjoyed when we got back to the caravan. We then decided to go swimming but once we got to the onsite pool it was closed. With this, we decided to drive to Falmouth, we had a walk around Falmouth and were lucky to see a German Cruise ship that had docked up there. We decided that night we would go over to the entertainment on the site but were only there for an hour before going back to the van.

We had to get our tyre changed before doing anything as we had punctured the tyre the day before. We then went to Perranporth, we parked up at the top of a hill to get some pictures before driving down and parking in a car park by the beach. We had a nice walk on the beach and then found a chip shop to get some lunch. Once we had this we decided to head back to the caravan. Once back at the van we spoke about what we wanted to do, we both were a bit fed up as the weather was wet and there wasn't much to do. We were due to leave the next morning but thought it was best to head back then. We left at 4pm and arrived back home at 2:30am after getting stuck in a lot of traffic.
Cornwall was somewhere we both were so excited to visit but felt it didn't live up to the expectations we had hoped for. We want to go back but stay around the Perranporth area and go in the summer to enjoy the hot weather.
Hopefully, the next visit to Cornwall will be a lot more positive.
Thanks for reading
